ALTAR SOCIETY MISSION STATEMENT

The St. Stanislaus Altar Society is a church support group of dedicated Catholic women that provides all liturgical necessities for the Parish Church.  With St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as the patroness, we strive to imitate her example of service to others by also providing physical and spiritual nourishment through various ministries in a manner that dignifies God’s love for each of us.

OUR PURPOSE
There are several committees that work together in order to enhance an atmosphere worthy of our Mission.  Volunteers are always gladly welcomed.
  • Liturgical necessities provided are Priest/Deacon Vestments, Vessels, Altar Linens, Communion Hosts, Wine, Flowers, Holy Water, Candles and Special Decorations for each Mass.
  • Care for and weekly cleaning of the church in preparation for weekend Masses.
  • Provide meals to families after a funeral.
  • “Prayer Chain” is a volunteer group of people that pray for any person who asks for any special intention and does not have to be Catholic or a member of the Parish.
  • Christmas cards are lovingly handwritten and personally delivered to Catholic residents of our local nursing homes.
  • Keep historical records of changes and activities that occur within the Parish and our membership.
  • During special liturgical events we provide additional decorations around the Altar and church to create a more intense spiritual experience.
  • Fundraising is to provide for the above-mentioned services. We have had luncheons and bake sales in the past but are open to new ideas.
  • Social activities are held twice a year and vary according to members’ decisions.

MEMBERSHIP We wish to promote friendship and fellowship by inviting any woman over the age of 18 who is a member of St. Stanislaus Church to join!  Please call, text or email President, Gina Aldridge at (830) 796-1271 or [email protected].

MEETINGS
Monthly meetings (excluding June, July and August) are held every second Tuesday at 5:30 pm in St. Joseph’s Hall, 311 Seventh Street in Bandera.
